Terms of Service — SMS
Adirondack Audiology Associates · Effective 17 September 2026
These terms apply to text messages sent by Adirondack Audiology Associates. By giving us your mobile number and agreeing to be contacted, you accept them.
What the program is
We use text messages for one thing: getting you to the right appointment. That means appointment reminders and confirmations, changes to an appointment, notice that hearing aids or accessories you ordered are ready, and replies to messages you send us — including through the chat window on this website.
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent separately first.
How you opt in
You opt in by giving us your mobile number and agreeing to be contacted — on our hearing assessment form, on our contact form, in the chat window, in the paperwork you complete at a clinic, or by telling a member of staff. You can also start a conversation by texting us first.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving care. If you would rather we called you, say so and we will.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your own appointments and on any conversation you start with us. Most people receive only a handful of messages around an appointment.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting you. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages after that.
You can also ask any member of staff to take you off text messaging, or call your clinic.
Opting out of text messages does not cancel your appointments — we will contact you by telephone instead.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message and we will reply with contact details. You can also call us on (518) 562-0054, or call the office nearest you — numbers are on our locations page.
Carriers
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Virgin Mobile, Cricket and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier’s network and we cannot guarantee it — so please do not rely on a text message alone for anything time-critical.
Privacy
We do not share, sell or rent your mobile number or your consent to receive text messages to anyone for their own marketing. Your number is shared only with the provider that delivers messages on our behalf, so that it can deliver them.
What else we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy. Health information created in the course of your care is covered by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices (PDF).
Text messages are not a secure channel. We keep them brief and avoid clinical detail. Please do not send us test results, insurance identifiers or other sensitive information by text — call your clinic instead.
Keeping your number current
Please tell us if your mobile number changes. If a number is reassigned to someone else, whoever holds it may receive messages intended for you until we are told.
Age
You must be 18 or older, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to sign up for text messages from us.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
